Abstract

This study investigates the dysregulation of microRNAs (miRNAs) in the blood of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD) to identify common mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. Through two independent systematic reviews, bioinformatic analysis, and experimental validation, the researchers identified 15 common miRNAs and 13 overlapping KEGG pathways shared between AD and PD. Among these, let-7f-5p and miR-29b-3p were validated as potential biomarkers in a small cohort of AD and PD patients, showing promise as predictors in the blood of PD patients
