Discussing "Dog Parks" with the AMA

Sonya Grier, coauthor Vanessa Perry, and the AMA discuss the pair's celebrated research on gentrification in DC.

Shortly following the announcement that their 2018 article, “Dog Parks and Coffee Shops: Faux Diversity and Consumption in Gentrifying Neighborhoods,” was awarded the inaugural AMA-EBSCO Award for Responsible Research in Marketing, Sonya Grier and Vanessa Perry sat down with the AMA to discuss the work. They talk about their approach—incorporating a documentary film to “reach stakeholders beyond the academic community”—as well as the impact of the work.
