"How Outdoor Advertising Can Deepen Inequality"

Sonya Grier talks harmful food advertisements with the BBC.

Sonya Grier was recently interviewed by the BBC’s Christine Ro to discuss the increased occurrence of outdoor advertising in lower-income neighborhoods compared to their higher-income counterparts. A significant cause for concern is that these advertisements tend more frequently to portray harmful products, such as fast food. Grier predicts a more complicated “battle against junk food” than we saw with tobacco and, with other professionals, proposes tactics to consider for success.
